NIRS/AICA RelationshipThe Australian Indigenous Communications Association (AICA) has been recognised as the peak body for Indigenous Broadcasters around Australia. As a member of AICA it is NIRS's endeavour to promote Indigenous culture and issues and to enhance the credibility and reputation of Indigenous radio broadcasting. NIRS/CBAA RelationshipThe NIRS and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) have a close working relationship, not only because of the shared technical services, but because both have a commitment to community broadcasting. Both networks can boast a primary and secondary network; in the case of the NIRS our members are our primary network, while the CBAA is our secondary network. The CBAA recognises the reverse of this. Both organisations have agreed to cross promote any important cultural, social and political information that may be of interest to their respective members. The National Indigenous Radio Service is pleased to announce the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia has released details in relation to the popularity of NIRS. NIRS is the preferred provider of Satellite Programming76% of community radio stations prefer to access NIRS Satellite Programming than any other source of satellite programming. |
