The National Library of Australia is calling for applications from Indigenous organizations to support the preservation and management of locally held heritage collections.

The 2010 Community Heritage Grants are intended to help historical societies, museums and public libraries.

Community Heritage Grants Co-ordinator, Dianne Dahlitz says that Indigenous groups have achieved a lot with support from the fund and said that the Ration Shed project in Cherbourg was a great example of the way in which the funds could be used.

Applications for the grants close on Friday May 14th, visit the National Library of Australia website for more details.
