Adelaide to celebrate the 2009 Spirit Festival
The 2009 Spirit Festival is a new annual event that promotes and celebrates traditional and contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, music, art and dance.
As a Social Inclusion Initiative of the S.A. Government, the festival aims to strengthen pride and improve spiritual, cultural and physical wellbeing within South Australia's Aboriginal community, while building positive relations between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
This free community event will be broadcast live around Australian over the National Indigenous Radio Service thanks to coverage by Umeewarra Aboriginal Media Association (5UMA) from Port Augusta in South Australia. Click here to visit 5UMA's website.
The 2009 Spirit Festival will be held on December 12-13 from Elder Park in the heart of Adelaide.
